I started another site and made the mistake of NOT shopping around for a decent web host first! Now, I’ve been left with the headache of having to transfer to another host. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Going-it-alone while trying to find the best web hosting and email for your business, personal or blog site can be a daunting task, no doubt. With so many available options it’s hard to find companies that offer quality, reliable and cheap web hosting solutions.
Get some help at WebHostRating.com. This site makes the process of finding a web host a whole lot easier (especially for dummies like me) because they offer and provide tons of information, tutorials and articles related to everything web hosting and how to find the right company.
What’s best, featuring companies that charge less than $10 per month for website hosting, WebHostRating.com provides extensive customer reviews and ratings of reliable and affordable hosting plans and companies.

1You could usefully read my blog post about GDI. Giving you hosting for $10 a month PLUS your .ws domain PLUS a lucrative online biz! If your site doesn’t need the bells and whistles of databases etc, it might be a good deal for you. Other domain extensions also available, check for costs.

2I had a similar experience – I went through four webhosts before I settled in with a good one, and sometimes the switchover was a veritable nightware (as is the services of some hosts).

3I agree, the best way to decide on a web host is to read what customers think about them. Look for sites that allow users to review webhosts. The unbiased user-driven comment/review type of site is a good resource for your online business.

4May I suggest http://www.hostmonster.com? Fantastic I must say, and well below 10 a month.
Plus, just about everything is unlimited, there are no ads on your pages and support is great. Oh, and no, not once, have I had downtime.

8Dunno about you folks but as far it it concern my friends – all of them recommend Hostgator. If you have more then 10 domains having a reseller account there is cool and quite cheap. I haven’t tried it myself so far but going to as soon as i get some domains.

10Dear WAHM, First of all you write well. Good for you. You’re way ahead of “the game” in that regard! When you referred to “Going it alone,” you caught my immediate…eye! One of the things I wish I had realized when I first became interested in internet marketing years ago is that there is an abundance of help out there. And one of the most helpful places to get great information, ask questions, get involved with people who share similar interests as you is internet marketing forums. You’re probably already aware of this; but, if so, I’ll just take this opportunity to reinforce how important I feel it is to get yourself “out there!” All the best for a successful 2009!

11My first host was BlueWho and I wasn’t satisfied with their support. Now I have been with Hostgator for 2 years and I can honestly say you won’t get any better support for this price on shared servers. Ticket response time always in less than an hour. If you doubt me you can test their web hosting plans out for free by using latest coupons that can be found here:

Good luck!

15Yes you are true, we should purchase the host name in advance. If you will not do that you will not get your desired domain name and you will have to obtain the secondary domain name.

19I got stuck with a crappy host. It’s the worst situation to be in because if you’ve done a lot of link building (which I had) you don’t want to make all that work go to waste. So you linger on. But eventually you have to make the break.
If you want reliable hosting for next to nothing (or nothing, if you’re happy with a sub-domain) then you should check out Weebly. It’s heaps better than what I was paying 10 bucks a month for, yet all I pay for is a yearly domain fee.

20They are co-owned by the woman who wrote the WordPress for Dummies books… but I can find no information about them like reviews.
Any info would help.
